Why should I have my hair and make-up done?
Wedding photos are very expensive and take a large part of any wedding budget. You will have those forever and look at them often. You want to look the best that you can in those photos. The camera sees things differently than the human eye. By taking advantage of hair and make-up, we can make the camera see you as you see yourself.
Why is airbrush make-up so expensive?
Airbrush make-up costs more than traditional makeup. The compressor used to apply the make-up is complicated piece of equipment that is an investment for the make-up artist.
Why airbrush make-up?
Airbrush make-up is so much more natural looking than traditional foundation. It is lightweight, airy but can cover almost any imperfection.
Why do I need to make a deposit?
Deposits are to reserve the date and time that you want, it guarantees that the day and time are held for you. I also ask people to sign a contract to put the agreement in writing, so in the million of details you are tending to, you will know exactly what to expect. There are only so many weekends in the best times of the year and short notice cancellations affects me and other brides. Of course I understand that life gets crazy and things happen, so I do offer a full refund of the deposit within reason. The deposit is half of the projected fee.
Should I have a trial?
If a trial fits into your wedding budget, it is a good idea to have one. It gives us time to work out the kinks and make decisions that will seem stressful on the wedding day. If a trial is not in your budget, that is okay too! When you do have your hair done on the wedding day be sure to bring plenty of photos of what you like. Your hair may not look exactly like the photo, but it gives the stylist a great sense of your style.
How do I prepare for the day of?
If you are getting your hair done, wash and dry it the night before. Try to not use any product like gel or mousse. Wear a button up shirt so that you do not have to pull anything over your head. Think about getting natural looking highlights a few weeks before the wedding. Dimension in the hair really makes up-styles 'pop' in photos. If you are getting makeup done, exfoliate and cleanse the morning of and finish with a light oil free moisturizer. Exfoliating will help the makeup go on more smoothly and will result in a better look.
